A Search for Skin That Simply Works

"I tried everything. Nothing worked — until I went back 5,000 years."

Before BotanicRain existed, my skin was a mess. Combination in the T-zone, reactive to half the products I tried, prone to dullness and the occasional breakout — and always on the edge of sensitivity. I was the person who read every label, consulted every forum, and still couldn't find something that worked reliably. Not for long, anyway.

I bounced between brands, price points, "clean" and "clinical" and everything in between. Products that promised transformation and delivered irritation. Serums that felt luxurious for two weeks and then seemed to stop doing anything at all. I spent more money than I'd like to admit on things that made my skin worse before I admitted I was going in circles.

The turning point was almost accidental. I started reading about Ayurveda — not as a spiritual practice, but as a system of understanding the body. The idea that each person has a distinct constitutional type, a Dosha, that shapes how their skin behaves, how it reacts, what it needs — it made immediate intuitive sense to me. Western skincare had been treating my skin as if it were a generic surface. Ayurveda treated it as a living, individual system.

"Western skincare had been treating my skin as a generic surface. Ayurveda treated it as a living, individual system."

As I went deeper, I started to notice patterns. Almost every product in my bathroom — from the gentle cleanser to the "natural" moisturiser — contained at least one of the same six categories of ingredients. Sulfates that stripped the barrier I was trying to protect. Synthetic fragrances that my skin reacted to without me ever identifying them as the cause. Silicones that made everything feel smooth without letting anything actually absorb. Mineral oils that sat on the surface. Parabens, artificial dyes.

I called these six categories my Never List. When I cleared them entirely from my routine, something shifted within weeks. The reactivity settled. The dullness lifted. My skin started to behave the way I always assumed it couldn't — calmly, evenly, without drama.

The problem was that finding products free from all six, formulated with genuine Ayurvedic actives, and designed for specific skin constitutions rather than generic skin types — they didn't really exist. So I decided to make them.

Why BotanicRain?

In Ayurvedic tradition, rain is the great purifier — the force that cleanses, replenishes, and restores balance to the earth. Botanic, from the Latin for plants, grounds the brand in what Ayurveda has always known: that the most intelligent ingredients come from the natural world. BotanicRain is what happens when ancient plant wisdom meets modern skin science. It's the reset your skin has been waiting for.

Your skin isn't broken.
It's just been misdirected.

When skin is exposed to irritants and sensitisers over a long period of time, the damage is cumulative and often invisible. We start to believe we have "sensitive" skin — when what we really have is skin that has been sensitised over time. That is a very different problem. And it is one that can be addressed.

Every BotanicRain formula begins with your Dosha — your skin's constitutional type — and builds from there: botanical actives at meaningful concentrations, in bases your skin recognises, free from the six ingredients that get in the way. It is not complicated. It is just attentive.

Take the Dosha quiz. Find your formulas. Then give your skin the space to return to what it knows how to be.
